Another summer season has come and gone. We enjoyed watching all the families come and go and having fun throughout the season. It was nice to have our son Andy and daughter in law Joni help out this season. We appreciate the work that they and the team of workampers did to make this season a success.
We were very busy this year with moving our home and the photo gallery downtown. We do appreciate you coming by to visit the gallery and all the nice compliments we received. We enjoyed visiting with each of you and appreciated the support.
In an effort to put more of a focus on Mesa Campground and our guests next season, we are happy to announce that George and Kellie Roberts will be managing all operations at the Campground from now on. Many of you already know them. They have been workamping at Mesa Campground for three seasons now and we feel that they have a good grasp of the operation. We are excited as they will be able to focus full time on operations and customer satisfaction. Please welcome them the next time you see them. They are both anxious to greet you next season and they look forward to your support in making the Summer 2016 season fun for everyone.
We enjoyed getting to know our new seasonal guests. Everyone seemed to have had fun and enjoyed exploring the area. At the same time we hate to see people go and we wish Susan and Steve the best in their beautiful home in the Almont area. We hope to still see them from time to time. We do have two park models for sale. Park Model – F and Park Model – U. We would love to fill those with some new faces before the season next year. Please contact us if we can help fulfill someone’s summer vacation dreams.
Our major improvements goals for the next summer season will concentrate on an irrigation system and an upgraded level of WiFi. We plan to install a site level irrigation system and hope to be able to do more watering with less disruption to our customers. As far as the WiFi system is concerned, we have decided that due to the escalating demand and usage, (we have had up to 1000 devises connected to the system in the campground at any one time) it is apparent that free WiFi no longer meets the needs of many of our guests. We have been working on several solutions and plan to offer high speed internet access at each site for an additional charge. We still plan to provide free internet access, but if additional bandwidth is required we will have it available. In addition, we will also have the Club House and the Rec-Hall as “hotspot” areas for our guests to enjoy. A number of our Park Model guest expressed interest in having dedicated WiFi and we will be able to provide that service next summer. There will be an installation charge of $199 and a monthly fee of $89. We do need to know who is interested so that we can plan the installs in the spring. Please contact George and Kellie if you are interested.
Each year we re-evaluate all the prices and fees to make sure they make common sense, are fair, and cover all liabilities etc. This analysis has surfaced the need to bring into line all on site winter storage fees for 2016. Effective January 1 2016, winter storage will be the same for all seasonal customers, whether they be RV’s occupying RV sites or Park Models occupying sites F – Y and 119. This charge will be reflected in our Park Model guests’ yearly invoice.
Re-evaluating the charges has resulted in revised rules and regulations for the Campground and we include a copy herewith for your information. We trust that you will make yourselves familiar with them to ensure a happy 2016 summer season.
We would like to improve both satisfaction and participation in our activities next season and welcome your input on how achieve this. Please send George and/or Kellie an email with any suggestions on activities that you would like to set in place. George and Kellie can be contacted at the following email addresses: [email protected] / or [email protected]
We have had a wonderfully warm fall here in Gunnison and as a result have had a busy end of season and now look forward to the winter. We wish everyone of you a peaceful winter. Here in Gunnison, we will be working on various little projects including up-dating our website amongst other winter chores.
What ever your goals for the new year, we hope your journey brings you joy and happiness, friends and treasured memories. Here’s wishing each and everyone of you all the best for 2016. Remember that we are able to help with 2016 reservations throughout the winter. Best regards from
