We hope you all made it safely to your winter locations and are enjoying the holidays. You made it one of the best years ever at Mesa Campground. We had some of our best workampers ever and appreciate all they did for us this year. The weather here has been very mild and there is still no snow on the ground. Most of Colorado has been reaching or breaking record highs the last few weeks.

You may have heard George got ill about the time we closed. He is finally on the mend over a month later. Due to an abscessed tooth and infection got into his body. It took 11 days in the hospital over two visits, in Gunnison and Grand Junction, but all is looking much better. He appreciated all the calls, cards, and well wishes he received while ill.

Many of you were aware that we may do some development this winter. It has since been decided that all plans for development are postponed until our owners have submitted and had approved their application for a Land Use Change for the park. The meetings with the County have all been positive. Our owners will continue to meet, and follow the permitting and processes required by the County, to secure a Land Use change which would allow our park to operate year round and subsequently begin installing the infrastructure to accommodate that vision. There was a nice article in the Gunnison Times covering the status with the county.

For our customers who enjoy Pickleball, members of the Gunnison Pickleball Association helped break ground this week at CharMar Park, where 5 new outdoor courts will be built before next Spring.

While the planned development inside our storage yard has temporarily been placed on hold, we have still removed 16 sites (1-16) from our rentals for the future. For those of you who occupy a space seasonally, we have enclosed your Summer storage agreement to be completed with your 2018 arrival and departure dates with your new site assignment. In order to have a storage site for 2018, you must complete and return this form with your seasonal payment. You are still welcome to pay your storage charges on arrival. Due to the high demand for storage during our operating season, all storage fees for the duration of your stay will be due in full on arrival.

In order to provide easier access after hours and avoid interruptions at home we will be providing an Emergency Phone Number, which will be posted on both our website and our office door. This will be for any “emergencies” you experience in the park when the office isn’t open. All issues should go through the office when open. Our staff is very capable of handling most any issue or know how to reach us. We appreciate you respecting our privacy at home.

We look forward to seeing you in 2018. Please let us know if you have any suggestions to make things better for everyone here at Mesa Campground. If you have any updates to your email address, mailing address, phone number or any other important information please get that updated. We like to be able to get in touch with you if needed.

We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

George and Kellie Roberts
