We hope everyone’s Winter went as well as possible. Speaking for those that we follow online, many had exciting travels and experiences throughout the winter. We can’t wait to hear about your travels.  We look forward to your arrival at Mesa Campground soon. Almost all the new workampers have been here since day one or before getting things ready. We have a full crew of very enthusiastic workampers this year and you should see the results of their labor as soon as you enter the campground.

The Clubhouse has been remodeled and is about 95% complete. We painted it, carpeted it, and graveled it in nicely. The internet upgrade was completed on Friday. We now have 5 access points up from 3 and new antennas and access points all around. Due to environmental limitations the irrigation system won’t be as elaborate and automated as we had hoped, but it will definitely be an improvement. That system should be fully functional this week sometime.

We have had some interest in new activities like coffee and doughnuts and maybe a movie night and poker night. If you have any ideas we would love to hear them. We hope to have a full campground filled with a lot of fun this summer, so far so good. Many of us attended an impromptu jam session in the clubhouse last night with guests and workampers.

Gunnison is thriving. The First Friday Art Walk in May was a huge success. Open Your Eyes Gallery celebrated its one year anniversary. The Local Market is under new management and serves some yummy sandwiches. The High Alpine Brewing Company is now open and the pizzas and beer are both quite tasty. We haven’t been in yet, but Ol’ Miner just completed a major renovation. There are many events to attend this summer. It will be a great time to be in Gunnison.

We are anxiously waiting to hear when you will arrive, so we can make sure everything is the best it can be when you get here. Any efforts or suggestions to improve communications with the office and management would be appreciated.
